THE ORIGINS
It all began back in 2018, when, after a fishing trip to Tanzania, during which many of the lures in our tackle box did not satisfy us 100%, some due to poor wear resistance, others because of a bizarre setup, others because their action in the water did not meet our expectations, Nicolò decided to challenge himself, without too many expectations, by creating a couple of handcrafted lures, a popper and a stickbait, that would meet various characteristics to be used on the upcoming trip to New Caledonia.
Against all expectations, those first lures were not just an experiment. They were a promise and delivered fantastic catches along the journey! Of course, they weren’t perfect. There was still so much to improve, so much to understand, so much to test. But one thing was clear: the foundations were there. And when you feel that something truly works, you can’t go back. That’s where the real challenge began. Not simply to create a lure. To create the lure. A lure capable of combining strength and precision, castability and control, flawless swimming action and a perfect, specific balance. But above all, a lure capable of doing what truly matters: triggering the predatory instinct and turning every cast into a real opportunity to catch the fish of your dreams. It wasn’t just about fishing. It was about pushing beyond a limit. Raising the bar. Building something never seen before, something that would leave a mark.
RESEARCH, DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT
Once the journey in New Caledonia was over, the real hard work began. We started with the hooks to achieve a specific setup; we needed to create a body that was resistant yet lightweight so as not to tire the angler too much during fishing sessions, all while allowing the lures to have a balance capable of ensuring water grip in every sea condition, an attractive swimming action, and a captivating line that could catch both the eye and, above all, the fish. Hundreds of tests were conducted. Hundreds of materials were analyzed. Hundreds of methods were experimented with. An infinite number of lures were created and then discarded, all with a single goal: reaching perfection! Each time it seemed we had arrived. But every time, a test or a fishing session revealed something to improve. A slight imbalance, a structural flaw, a swimming behavior that was not entirely convincing. So we returned to the laboratory. We started from scratch. We redesigned everything. Because true greatness does not come from compromises. It comes from the relentless pursuit of something better. From the willingness to never settle. From the ability to look at a result and ask: “can we go further?” Every prototype discarded was a step forward. Every mistake a lesson. Every test a building block toward something that was not just a lure, but a concrete idea of perfection applied to fishing. The journey was long. At times frustrating. At times it felt like going in circles. But precisely in those moments, when everything seemed still, something special was being born. Not a simple product. But a vision. An obsession with quality.
THE LEAP IN QUALITY
Despite the giant steps made by Nicolò being incredible, the lures were intended to be used only by the group of friends and a few other enthusiasts. It was an intimate project, a personal challenge, a laboratory of ideas and experimentation. Only in 2022, observing the extraordinary results achieved up to that point — both in tropical waters and in the Mediterranean Sea — did a new, ambitious, almost revolutionary idea take shape: to enter the market. No longer just a private project, but something to share with the world. The goal was clear: to make TECKLURE lures known to everyone, raising the level of quality and research that characterized them. With this decision, the pursuit of perfection became even more extreme. All new studies were conducted on highly technical foundations, with a precise objective: to ensure easy and intuitive use, maximum comfort in fishing, and at the same time meet the needs of the most demanding and technical anglers, those seeking detail, precision, and performance without compromise. Once the highest technical standards were reached, it was time to look further. Aesthetics became the new frontier. Because a lure must not only be functional: it must speak to the angler, inspire them, and represent quality in its appearance as well. So we decided to cater to as many anglers as possible, offering a wide range of colors: 12 variations for stickbaits and 10 for poppers and divers. The color options were divided into two price ranges: a more accessible one, dedicated to simple and classic colors, and a premium one, reserved for natural color patterns, designed to faithfully replicate the nuances of life in the water. Every choice, every detail, every color variation was not random. It was the result of a vision: to create lures capable of combining technique, aesthetics, and performance. Lures designed for anglers of all levels, but built with the ambition to satisfy even the most meticulous. Because fishing is not just an action. It is passion. It is research. It is evolution. And it is precisely in this evolution that TECKLURE found its path to bringing to market lures made by anglers for anglers.
