Looking for a big topwater explosion in Meditterranean sea or with a light rod? Baboon 140t is designed for that! 140mm long and weighing 82g. Designed to be rigged with two large 9/0 or 7/0 single or 2/0 treble hooks, making it very light, agile, and manoeuvrable. Its lightweight composite resin body and 1.6mm through wire construction make it super-strong in structure and thanks to its "shell" made of to several layers of specific epoxy resin, will last for hundreds of sharped baits. The parameters we developed this lure are: water grip, surface noise, tube of boubbles, splash; and casting distance. Given its weight and size, it's every inch the equal of its bigger brothers, so much so that it can easily be used even in the tropics! Its goal is to fly very far when cast, then produce roars/thunders on the surface, with big splashes and tubes of bubbles with high resistance to jerking! The best retrieval techniques are "long and noise popping" or "short and noise popping" with the rod high on the belt, making it explode with the relative speed cadences. It was born as a "stand-up popper" but can also be used underarm, where it can work perfectly thanks to a very strong water grip in all weather conditions, without too much effort! It attracts the attention of fish from very far away and now I'll tell you about a splendid catch made with this popper: we were offshore for tuna on feeding frenzies but unfortunately the fish were not active on the surface, we noticed an area with a strong presence of seagulls but still motionless on the water, after a short while we noticed large markings on the fishfinder, undoubtedly Bluefin Tuna! We rigged up the Baboon 140, and on the second cast, in the middle of nowhere, the waters opened up, a stunning explosion, and our bait landed in the mouth of a large predator! A fish was caught, and the day was saved, with an emotion we'll never forget! Just remember, don't pop it when it's on the crest of a wave, because then no water grip or popper will hold up!
